Exporting Your AMV in AVI

Windows Movie Maker will output avi files. After your editing is complete, display the task pane:

1. Select: “save to my computer” to open the save movie wizard
2. Name your file and select a place to save your video
3. Select: “Next >” to continue
4. Select the radio button next to: “Other settings”
   If “other settings is not an option, click the “show more choices option”
5. From the Drop Down list, select: “DV-AVI (NTSC)”
6. Select: “Next >” to continue
7. Your movie will export. Follow the instructions in the dialog box when the export is complete.

iMovie will out put compatible files, this example is for iMovie HD (6.0.4) but should be similar to older versions. After your editing is complete:

1. select: “File” then “Export”
2. Compress move for: “Expert Settings”
3. Select: “Share”
4. Next to “Export:” select “Movie to AVI”
5. Select “Options…” to open the AVI Settings dialog.
   Configure the Video Settings and Sound Settings to comply with the rules for video submission, while maintaining the desired video integrity.
6. Name your file, it will have a .avi extension
7. Select your export destination next to “Where:”
8. Click: “Save”
9. Your movie will export. Follow the instructions in the dialog box when the export is complete.
